Is coughing really caused by heart disease in dogs or is it a myth? When do we need to refer coughing dogs to a specialist? Dr Joon Seo is a veterinary cardiologist who will help refresh the management options of coughing in dogs. By attending this lecture, attendees will learn:
Speaker
Dr Joon Seo
Dr Joon Seo received his veterinary degree from Massey University in 2013. After graduation, he became passionate about veterinary cardiology and completed a 3-year cardiology Residency at the prestigious Royal Veterinary College (London) in 2020. Then, he returned to New Zealand and started up the cardiology service at ARC Vets in Auckland. He attained Diplomat status with the ACVIM, and was registered as a specialist in NZ through the VCNZ, in 2021.
Joon is passionate about every aspect of veterinary cardiology but is particularly interested in feline cardiomyopathy, interventional cardiology and congestive heart failure management. He aims to provide state of the art care while prioritising the quality of life of pets with heart disease. The Cardiology service at ARC Vets, led by Joon, is able to perform all sorts of diagnostics and procedures including echocardiography, ECG, Holter monitoring, transthoracic electrical cardioversion, pacemaker implantation, transvenous closure of patent ductus arteriosus and pulmonic balloon valvuloplasty.
Outside of work hours, Joon can be found doing work on his PhD research (because he doesn’t get enough of nerdy heart stuff in his day job!), travelling or enjoying the outdoors, and spending down time with his cat Sammy.
