Speakers
- Janine van Dam - Greyhound Dentistry: A presentation from Science Week conference
Janine van Dam graduated from Massey University in 1997 and became a member of the ANZCVS in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery in 2016. She started a company called Pet Dentistry and for the last ten years has been treating cases referred from clinics around the South Island. She has also assisted and lead dental workshops both in clinics around New Zealand and at the Veterinary Training Centre in Wigram.
Janine is passionate about animal dentistry, and it is her aim to educate both vets and pet owners about dental health. This year she presented at the Science Week conference about Greyhound Dentistry. As Greyhound Racing has now stopped in New Zealand, this topic is important because in the short-term vets are likely to see and treat more greyhounds as they are rehomed.
To celebrate Pet Dentistry's 10th Birthday, Janine will be repeating this presentation, along with some extra information and case studies on the medical treatment of Chronic Canine Ulcerative Stomatitis, and up-to-date information about a new antiviral treatment on the market for gingivostomatitis in cats.
